Speeches and tributes were made on the extraordinary life services of the late Janet Franks who was a founding member of HCCT and Waikato Multicultural Council (WMC).

Mount Everest commemoration
Speakers talked about the history of New Zealand's Edmund Hillary and Darjeeling's Sherpa Tenzing Norgay who on 29 May 1953 became known worldwide to reach the highest point on earth. After a colorful array of cultural performances, the occasion concluded with a delightful afternoon tea.  Well done to event organisers, Gladys and the team of HCCT.
